ABOUT ÉTRANGER

"Nothing is more delightful than portraying a woman by using fabrics."

Born in Taiwan, Lifu Hsiao (1980) graduated from ArtEZ Fashion Masters (Design) in 2008. After gaining working experience at Veronique Branquinho in 2009, he is now running his own label Étranger.

The name of label is originally from Albert Camus’ novel L'Étranger. There are two meanings in translation. One is foreigner who reflects Hsiao’s identity in Europe and the other one is stranger, which points out his view on things or how others look at "him" as a beholder.

Étranger is based and created in Amsterdam.
